Data Retention Protocol DP-606 | Updated April 2026
A critical clinical metric of a privacy-first platform is not just how it handles data during a session, but how it purges data after the session ends. At CHATZYO, the act of closing your browser tab or clicking "Disconnect" initiates a total Session Purge. This guide explains the technical lifecycle of your session data from the moment you leave rooms like USA Chat or Tamil Chat.
When you close the CHATZYO tab, your browser sends a final "Bye" signal to our signaling server in Coimbatore. This triggers a series of automated deletions.
While our servers purge their side, your browser may still hold "Residual Data" in its LocalStorage or SessionStorage. This is a technical feature of browsers to allow for quick reloads.
1. Close All Tabs: Ensure no other CHATZYO tabs are open, as the browser may share session data across tabs.
2. Incognito Benefits: If you used Incognito mode, your browser will automatically wipe the LocalStorage the second the last window is closed.
3. Manual Reset: You can follow our guide on clearing cookies and permissions to manually reset your browser's state.
There is only one type of data that persists after you leave CHATZYO: The Safety Blacklist Hash. If a user was banned for violating our Community Guidelines in UK Chat, their hardware hash remains on our "Prohibited List." This is a clinical necessity to prevent banned users from returning immediately to harass others.
Under the DPDP Act and other global privacy frameworks, we adhere to the principle of "Storage Limitation." Since we do not collect PII during your visit to 1-on-1 video call rooms, there is no "User Record" to maintain. Our clinical goal is to have zero data on our servers within 60 seconds of you leaving the site.
When you leave CHATZYO, you leave no trace. Our system is engineered to forget you the moment the connection ends, ensuring your digital footprint remains minimal. For more on our privacy infrastructure, please review our Privacy Policy.
